Group Manufacturing Director takes non-executive role
Kenwood Appliances plc, the leading kitchen appliance
company, today announced that Tony Douglas, Group
Manufacturing Director, is relinquishing his executive
role in order to take up a position with BAA on 17 August
1998 as Group Supply Chain Director. He will remain on
the Board of Kenwood as a non-executive Director. Tony
Douglas joined Kenwood in August 1996 and has been
responsible for the transformation of Kenwood's
manufacturing operations.
Mike Lapham, Engineering Director, will assume
responsibility for manufacturing in addition to his
current responsibilities for Engineering and New Product
Development.
David Nash, Chairman, said: "Tony Douglas has made an
outstanding contribution in reviewing Kenwood's
manufacturing activities and introducing a new
manufacturing strategy. Mike Lapham, who has worked
closely with Tony, and who was responsible for the
development of the Group's manufacturing presence in
China, will continue the implementation of this strategy,
in addition to his other Board responsibilities.
"We wish Tony every success in his new executive role,
and are pleased that he will continue to contribute to
the development of Kenwood as a non-executive Director."
