KIMBERLEY DIAMOND COMPANY NL (AIM: KDC)

INITIAL SUBSTANTIAL SHAREHOLDER NOTICE RECEIVED

Nicholas Mathys has advised that he has acquired a 5.92% interest in Kimberley
Diamond Company NL (25,327,000 shares) and is now a substantial shareholder in
the Company. The shares were acquired on market and by private placement during
2006 and 2007 for a total cash consideration of AUD21,591,030.
