Jupiter Second Split Trust PLC (`the Company') received notification from Mr
P.K.C. Gibbs, a director of the Company, that he purchased 100,000 Geared Growth
shares in the Company on 11 October 2007 at 63p per share, 50,000 Geared Growth
shares today at 63.5p per share and a further 50,000 Geared Growth shares today
at 65p per share.  Following these transactions he is interested in a total of
7,679,551 Geared Growth shares and no Zero Dividend Preference shares in the
Company representing 4.05% of the total voting rights in the Company.

There are 94,905,683 Geared Growth shares and 94,905,683 Zero Dividend
Preference shares in issue.  On a poll each Geared Growth share carries one vote
and each Zero Dividend Preference share carries one vote.  The Packaged Units
consist of one Geared Growth share and one Zero Dividend Preference share.
