Jupiter Second Split Trust PLC ('the Company') received notification today from
Mr P.K.C. Gibbs, a director of the Company, that he purchased 500,000 Geared
Growth shares in the Company on 14th July 2005 at 38.50p per share. Following
this transaction he is now interested in a total of 5,479,551 Geared Growth
shares and no Zero Dividend Preference shares in the Company representing 2.89%
of the total voting rights in the Company.

There are 94,905,683 Geared Growth shares and 94,905,683 Zero Dividend
Preference shares in issue. On a poll each Geared Growth share carries one vote
and each Zero Dividend Preference share carries one vote. The Packaged Units
consist of one Geared Growth share and one Zero Dividend Preference share.
