                              ANALYSTS' SITE VISIT

Johnston Press plc, the regional newspaper publishing group, announces that it
is holding an analysts' site visit to its Portsmouth operations today.

The purpose of the visit is to provide analysts with an opportunity to enhance
their understanding of Johnston Press and to meet additional members of the
operational management team.

No new information on current trading will be disclosed during the visit.
