    CALGARY, Dec. 19 /CNW/ - The Board of Directors of First Calgary
Petroleums Ltd. ("FCP" or the "Company") notes the announcement from
Waterford Finance & Investment Limited, a shareholder in FCP, on the delivery
to the Company of a requisition for a special meeting of the shareholders of
FCP to be called for the purpose of removing a director. The Board has
received the formal requisition from Waterford. The Board will consider the
requisition and provide a response to the market in due course.

    First Calgary Petroleums Ltd. is an oil and gas exploration company
