Coats plc.


The above Company has made an application to the UK Listing Authority and to the
London Stock Exchange plc for 3,900,740 Ordinary shares of 20p each to be
listed. The listing consists of 740 shares issued upon Conversion of the 6.25%
Convertible Bonds 2003 and a further 3,900,000 shares to be block listed under
the Coats 1994 Executive Share Option Scheme.


Accordingly, application has been made for these shares to be admitted to the
Official List and to be admitted to trading. The Shares rank pari passu with the
existing issued shares of the Company.
