Substantial Shareholding

In accordance with Section 198 of the Companies Act 1985 the Company has today
been advised that Abingworth Ventures Limited Partners sold 85,190 ordinary
shares in Comino plc on 4 January 1999.

Following  this disposal Abingworth Ventures Limited Partners holds 1,435,501
ordinary shares representing 10.59 per cent. of the issued share capital of
the Company.
