RNS No 5598x BIOTRACE INTERNATIONAL PLC 4 May 1999  DISTRIBUTION ALLIANCES
Biotrace International Plc ("Biotrace") announces that Biotrace and Ecolab Inc.
have respectively decided not to renew the Distribution Agreement for Biotrace's
products to the Food and Beverage industry in North America.  The contract is
due to end on 30 September 1999 and Biotrace are currently negotiating mutually
agreeable termination terms.  In addition, Biotrace has informed Henkel-Ecolab
of its decision to conclude their European distribution alliance. Commenting,
Jim Keir, Chief Executive of Biotrace, said: "We look forward to working with
Ecolab in the coming months, as well as our additional distributors world- wide,
to ensure our continued commitment to fully satisfy our end-use customers.  We
