Admiral Group PLC (ADM.LN) Thursday announces that its direct insurance operation in France, L'Olivier, or Olive Tree, launched Thursday from its offices in Paris.

MAIN FACTS:

-Expects a modest start with small initial volumes as it learns more about the French market and how to develop its model.

-The Group will provide further update when it announces its results for the year ending Dec. 31, on March 2, 2011.

-Shares at 0902 GMT down 6.0 pence, or 0.4%, at 1541.0 pence.
