Japan's Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission is
examining possible insider trading of All Nippon Airways Co.'s
(9202.TO) shares prior to its announcement last week of a public
offering, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday, citing a government
official with direct knowledge of the matter.
The commission is studying share movements before the
announcement and will conduct hearings to determine whether
underwriters leaked information, Bloomberg reported the official as
saying.
ANA spokesman Ryosei Nomura said Thursday the airline has no
plans to take action after its four underwriters--Nomura Holdings
(8604.TO), Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS), JPMorgan Chase & Co.
(JPM) and Deutsche Bank AG (DB)--gave it assurances they didn't
leak information, Bloomberg reported.
Spokesmen for the four banks declined to comment, as did an SESC
spokesman; Another ANA spokeswoman said it had no knowledge of any
examination by the regulator, the report said.
