Captaris, Inc. (NASDAQ:CAPA), a leading provider of software
products that automate document-centric processes, today announced
Captaris(R) RightFax(R) is compliant with key Internet Protocol
(IP) telephony solutions from Avaya, a leading global provider of
business communications applications, systems and services. Tested
integration provides a straight-forward, proven route for Avaya
customers to leverage their IP infrastructure and the leading Fax
over IP solution from Captaris RightFax, the market leader in
document delivery and fax software. Captaris RightFax enables
companies to deliver business information from virtually any
application via fax, email, print devices or over the Internet.
RightFax is now compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with
Avaya Communications Manager. For testing, faxes were transmitted
exercising the T.38 Fax over IP operation between RightFax and
Avaya Communications Manager. "As a certified, interoperable
solution, RightFax enables businesses to uncover new possibilities
for leveraging their communications infrastructure, more
specifically, to incorporate Fax over IP quickly, easily and
cost-effectively," said Paul Yantus, executive vice president of
marketing and new product development for Captaris. "Tested
compliance is further evidence that Captaris is extending its
foremost position in the Fax over IP space." One of the companies
benefiting from the interoperability of RightFax and Avaya
solutions is Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal, a law firm
headquartered in Chicago. For security and fault tolerance,
Sonnenschein leveraged its Avaya PBX and connected a remote
mirrored RightFax fax server to the WAN via IP. "RightFax provided
ease of integration into the Avaya FoIP infrastructure for
Sonnenschein," noted Mike Cooley, CEO of Exucom, a Captaris
Platinum partner and Chicago-based solutions provider retained by
the law firm. "Certified compliance helps to expedite the
integration process and realization of cost-savings for other
organizations that wish to send and receive faxes on their Avaya IP
network," he said. Captaris is a Gold member of the Avaya
DevConnect program -- an initiative to develop, market and sell
innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya
technology and extend the value of a company's investment in its
network. Captaris is eligible to submit products for compatibility
testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in
Lincroft, N.J. There a team of Avaya engineers develops a
comprehensive test plan for each application to verify whether it
is Avaya compliant. Doing so ensures businesses can confidently add
innovative capabilities to their network without having to replace
their existing infrastructure -- speeding deployment of new
applications and reducing both network complexity and
implementation costs. "As the proven market leader in fax
technology, Captaris RightFax provides best-in-class Fax over IP
capabilities to Avaya customers. By offering compliance testing to
innovative companies like Captaris who are members of our
DevConnect program, Avaya promotes fully interoperable solutions
that help businesses unleash powerful new possibilities," said Eric
Rossman, vice president, developer relations and technical
alliances, Avaya. "They are able to use Intelligent Communications
to connect employees and customers to information from wherever
they are, over whatever device they have available -- getting more
out of their multivendor network and delivering new value to their
bottom line." About Captaris Captaris, Inc. is a leading provider
