Purchase of own securities

Loades plc (the 'Company') announces that, on 29 April 2003, it purchased for
cancellation 158,000 of its ordinary shares, representing 7.9% per cent. of
its issued share capital, at a price of 52.5p per ordinary share. Following
the re-purchase and cancellation of these shares, the issued share capital of
the Company will be 1,842,000 ordinary shares.
