Aurora Energy Resources Inc. ("Aurora" or "the Company") (TSX:AXU) is pleased to
announce the creation of a new panel that will give community representatives
from coastal Labrador input into project planning and key environmental work.

Aurora is currently seeking applications from coastal Labrador citizens who are
interested in participating in the Michelin Project Community Panel. The Panel
is an important element of Aurora's work program, which is focused on ensuring
the Michelin Project can be developed in a safe manner with minimal impact on
the land, wildlife and nearby communities.

"Our intention is to continue to be open, transparent and participative as we
move the Michelin Project forward," says Dr. Mark O'Dea, President and CEO,
Aurora Energy Resources. "The Panel not only provides the community an in-depth
forum for discussion and direction, but gives citizens an open and direct line
of access to project planning."

The Panel's mandate is to:

- Identify opportunities to improve the project's fit within the community
through discussion of community issues and concerns

- Communicate information about the proposed Michelin Project to the community

- Provide input on specific project details, such as tailings management,
project design, environmental and engineering studies, and community benefits

- Provide input on consultation activities and materials

- Obtain public feedback and bring to the Panel

The Panel is to be comprised of approximately 10 members and will include
representatives from Postville, Makkovik, Nain, Hopedale, Rigolet, North West
River, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Sheshashiu, Natuashish and Aurora. The Panel is
seeking a diverse representation of community interests, including residents,
business owners, hunters, fishers, teachers and principals, students (age 16
years and older), elders, health care, community and recreation interests.

The Panel will meet six to eight times per year. The initial membership is for
one year and some travel is required as meetings will rotate throughout North
Coast communities. Deadline for applications is July 14, 2008 with the Panel's
first meeting scheduled for August 2008.
