Magazine Conducted Annual Survey of More than 800 Companies
COLUMBUS, Ga., Aug. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Aflac today announced that
it has been named a LATINA Style Top 50 company by LATINA Style
Magazine in the publication's annual LATINA Style 50 report. The
report is distributed to Hispanic professional and civic
organizations, national women's organizations, more than 2,000
colleges and universities, members of congress and the White House.
LATINA Style surveyed more than 800 companies for this study. The
list appears in LATINA Style's August issue. "We are proud to be
recognized as a Top 50 Company by LATINA Style magazine and to have
made this elite list after more than 800 companies were surveyed,"
Aflac chairman and CEO Dan Amos said. "We embrace our commitment to
diversity because we know that in a market as diverse as America,
it makes us a stronger company." Companies are evaluated based on
issues that LATINA Style readers identified as most important to
them in the workplace. Among the principal areas of evaluation are:
number of Latina executives, mentoring programs, Latina board
members, educational opportunities, alternative work policies,
dependent/child care support, employee benefits, women's issues,
job retraining, affinity groups and Hispanic relations. Evaluations
for the 2009 annual report were based on 2008 data. The LATINA
Style 50 companies will be honored on February 4, 2010, during
LATINA Style's awards ceremony and Diversity Leaders Conference in
Washington, D.C. The companies will also be recognized at an
exclusive awards reception at the White House. About Aflac For more
