NEW YORK, Sept. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Taiwan Fund, Inc. (TWN) announces today that at its Special Stockholders Meeting that was held on September 22, 2014, the stockholders of the Fund voted to approve the proposed Investment Advisory and Management Agreement between the Fund and JF International Management Inc. with 75.25% of the Fund's outstanding shares voting in favor of approval of the Agreement.

The Fund is a diversified closed-end investment company, which seeks long term capital appreciation primarily through investments in equity securities listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.  Shares of the Fund are listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol "TWN."
