CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., Nov. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The IZOD IndyCar
Series is one of the most competitive and technologically advanced
racing series in the world. The racecars operate under
extreme conditions that vary widely from track to track, and
engineers exactingly monitor every detail of stress placed on the
vehicle, creating a perfect real-world test situation.
In 2012, Quaker Chemical (NYSE: KWR) formed a partnership with
Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing (SFHR) to see if together they could
develop new greases that would reduce mechanical loss of energy and
to extend the life of the bearings. The SFHR team was hoping for a
subtle but crucial fraction-of-a-second advantage.
Since the partnership began the technical team from Quaker,
along with SFHR's engineering team, have worked on projects
designed to generate greases and lubricants specifically engineered
to combat race conditions in the ultra-competitive IndyCar
Series. And in its third year, the partnership has
allowed Quaker to develop superior lubrication technology for use
within its core industries. Most recently development work
has been performed for CV joint grease and ball joints.
To share more detailed findings on the recent CV joint grease
and ball joints as well as automotive grease for both electrical
and mechanical component applications, Quaker's Brian Cichoski, Summit Business Development
Manager, will present at the Society of Tribology and Lubrication –
Detroit Chapter Dinner Meeting. This meeting will be held on
November 19, 2014 at the Green Glass
Building in Livonia, MI.
