Pitney Bowes Announces 2020 Pricing for Ecommerce Services with Fewer and Lower Surcharges Than Competitors

Pitney Bowes (NYSE: PBI), a global technology company that
provides commerce solutions in the areas of ecommerce, shipping,
mailing, data and financial services, today announced a 4.9%
general rate increase (GRI) for ecommerce delivery and returns
services for 2020. The new pricing is in-line with market rates and
continues Pitney Bowes’ commitment to providing simple pricing with
fewer surcharges than competitors.
The 4.9% GRI applies to the following services:
- Standard delivery of parcels through an extensive US domestic
network, leveraging the USPS® for final mile delivery
- Cross-border delivery service to 207 countries and territories
with bundled quoting and compliance services
- Standard domestic returns services that allow retailers to
offer free at-home pick-up, convenient drop-off options, and fast
refunds
“We’re pleased to continue to offer competitive shipping rates
for ecommerce delivery and returns services through 2020 in a way
that makes it simple and predictable for our clients to plan for
their spend next year as their businesses grow,” said Gregg Zegras,
Chief Commercial Officer, Pitney Bowes Commerce Services.
Pitney Bowes’ pricing includes fewer and lower surcharges than
competitors, including a lower fuel surcharge, no Delivery Area or
Residential surcharges, and a more flexible dimensional (DIM)
weight policy that does not apply DIM weighting to all packages. In
addition, Pitney Bowes will continue to offer its regular shipping
rates during the peak holiday season, with no peak surcharges.
Pitney Bowes has been able to keep price increases in-line with
market rates despite rising labor and transportation costs, while
at the same time making significant strategic investments to expand
capacity, including adding four new network facilities and
expanding two others in 2019. Pitney Bowes has also invested
heavily in enhanced tracking services, robotics, automation and new
product features to advance its services and the speed of its
overall network.
