Praxair Inc. on Thursday announced plans to expand nitrogen
capacity at a facility under construction in South Korea to meet
the growing demand from Samsung Electronics' semiconductor
manufacturing complex.
Praxair, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Linde PLC (LIN),
said with the expansion, its investment in the facility in
Pyeongtaek, South Korea, totals about $600 million.
The overall project, first announced in early 2018, is Praxair's
largest investment ever, the company said.
The two companies signed an agreement in April, under which
Praxair will supply industrial gases to Samsung's semiconductor
manufacturing facility in Pyeongtaek.
