IMC Global Completes Sale of Its Remaining Discontinued IMC Chemicals Operating Entities LAKE FOREST, Ill., March 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- IMC Global Inc. announced today that it has completed the sale of its remaining discontinued IMC Chemicals operating entities, which include a soda ash and boron chemicals operation in Searles Valley, California and a specialty borates plant in Lardellero, Italy. The California-based operation was purchased by affiliates of Sun Capital Partners, Inc. of Boca Raton, Florida. The Italy-based operation was purchased by Tuscan Stars GSA, LLC and certain of its affiliates. Terms of the sale were not announced. As previously disclosed, IMC Global has retained a 19.9 percent equity interest in the IMC Chemicals entities. With 2003 revenues of $2.2 billion, IMC Global is the world's largest producer and marketer of concentrated phosphates and potash crop nutrients for the agricultural industry and a leading global provider of feed ingredients for the animal nutrition industry.
