Honeywell International Inc. said Monday it was expanding its production of N95 face masks with the addition of new operations at an existing Honeywell Aerospace site in Phoenix.

The company said the new operations would enable it to produce a total of more than 20 million masks each month. Equipment will begin arriving in Phoenix this week, the company said.

Honeywell said it expects the new mask production line in Phoenix will create more than 500 new jobs, adding it has already begun recruiting, hiring and training workers on the site.

The N95 face masks will be delivered to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service, the company said.
