After a week of almost nonstop reporting at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), GameSpot (www.gamespot.com), a leading source for trusted gaming information and a property of CNET Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:CNET), today announced the winners of its Ninth Annual GameSpot E3 2005 Editors' Choice Awards. In addition to "Game of the Show" winner, "Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess" for GameCube, more than 25 category awards went to the most impressive and anticipated games out of the 1,000-plus games that were on display at E3 (see below for full list of winners). More than 5.5 million gamers visited GameSpot.com during the week of E3, accessing more than 100 million page views, while consuming the GameSpot content which included more than 1,000 movies, 12,000 screenshots, and 1,200 plus reports posted by GameSpot editors. GameSpot also served an average of 4 million on-demand video streams a day during the show covering 1,000 different products -- 98 percent of all games shown at E3. On Tuesday, May 17 alone, there were almost 6 million streams downloaded, which if watched consecutively, would take more than 12 years to view. "Due to the exceptional efforts and experience of our entire product team, no other games information source matched the quality, depth, and breadth of GameSpot's E3 coverage -- online or offline," commented Greg Kasavin, executive editor of GameSpot. "Our editors are just as passionate about the games of E3 as our audience, and it shows in our coverage. The winners of the GameSpot E3 2005 Editors' Choice Awards represent some of the most promising and innovative new games our industry has to offer." Following is the list of the top awards.
