Business Wire
QuadraMed Corporation (NASDAQ:QDHC) today announced that Ohio-based
Ashtabula County Medical Center (ACMC) has implemented QuadraMeds
Pharmacy Integrated Medication Management (IMM). The fully
integrated pharmacy automation and medication management module of
QCPR provides real-time, wireless, point-of-care medication
scanning and allows nurses to verify a patient's identity, validate
medications against active orders and perform medication
administration documentation online, thus, reducing the potential
for patient errors and improving overall patient care. As the
largest medical facility in Ashtabula County, it was critical to
select a solution that not only met our current demands, but that
also enables future integration with a comprehensive clinical
application system like QCPR, said David Jacobs, Director of
Information Systems at ACMC. Added Frank Caputo, ACMC Director of
Pharmacy, QuadraMed Pharmacy IMM provides the functionality for
automating our core pharmacy operational requirements, as well as
the foundation for bar code medication administration. Once QCPR
is fully implemented, the single-database QuadraMed Pharmacy IMM
solution enables seamless medication management that "closes the
loop" from order entry to medication administration. Nursing and
pharmacy staff gain instant access to the same patient status
records and clinical information, reducing errors and streamlining
workflow. QuadraMed Pharmacy IMM empowers ACMC to reduce the risk
of patient medication errors by helping to ensure the Six Rights
of medication administration with bar code-based technology: right
patient, right medication, right dose, right time, right route, and
right documentation, said Keith Hagen, QuadraMeds President and
CEO. In addition, our real-time charting eliminates manual entry
mistakes that can occur when orders are translated from one system
to another. Providing services to the surrounding community for
more than a century, Ohio-based ACMC is licensed for 249 beds,
employs 1,100 staff, and is an affiliate of Cleveland Clinic. The
private, nonprofit hospital offers the latest in diagnostic imaging
services, with Cleveland Clinic radiologists on site daily. Special
programs at ACMC include occupational medicine, skilled nursing,
cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, pain management, and a new
catheterization laboratory. The ACMC Healthcare System also
includes Ashtabula Regional Home Health Services, the ACMC
Foundation, Glenbeigh and The Ashtabula Clinic. After QuadraMed
acquired QCPR, its implementation team immediately responded to our
needs and accelerated the overall launch time frame, bringing ACMC
live even faster than we had hoped, added Jacobs. We are very
appreciative of the outstanding job performed by the QuadraMed
team. They truly stand behind their word about servicing the
client. About QuadraMed Corporation QuadraMed Corporation advances
