Northwest Offers Fares From Portland, Ore. to Hawaii For $191* Each
Way Airline offering sale fares to Honolulu for $191* each way,
Maui for $231* each way PORTLAND, Ore., Dec. 9
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Northwest Airlines (NASDAQ:NWAC) today
announced low sale fares from Portland to Hawaii as a result of the
airline's new nonstop service to Honolulu. The airline announced
new sale fares of $191* each way from Portland to Honolulu, and
$231* each way to Maui, Hawaii, for travel from January 4 through
May 19, 2005. Northwest begins new daily nonstop service from
Portland to Honolulu on Dec. 15. The service will be operated with
Northwest's modern Boeing 757-300 aircraft, with 24 seats in first
class and 200 seats in coach class. The airline is offering sale
fares to Maui via a connection in Honolulu to flights operated by
its marketing partner, Hawaiian Airlines, providing convenient
transfers and opportunities to earn and redeem WorldPerks frequent
flyer miles. Northwest's sale fares to Hawaii are available for
purchase until Dec. 22, 2004, through the airline's Web site at
http://www.nwa.com/ , Northwest Airlines reservations at
1-800-225-2525, most travel Web sites and through travel agents.
Value-priced vacation packages to Hawaii are available through
Northwest Airlines WorldVacations online at
http://www.nwaworldvacations.com/ , by telephone at 1-800-800-1504,
or through travel agents. On Dec. 15, the airline also resumes
daily nonstop service from San Francisco to Honolulu. With the
addition of these new flights, Northwest will offer service to
Honolulu from a total of six U.S. cities, including Detroit
(seasonal), Los Angeles, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Seattle, Portland
and San Francisco. In addition, Northwest offers two daily flights
between Honolulu and Northwest's hub at Tokyo-Narita and one daily
flight from Honolulu to Osaka, Japan. As previously announced,
Northwest will further expand its Hawaii service on Feb. 17, 2005,
when it begins offering four weekly flights between Anchorage,
Alaska, Maui and Honolulu. The seasonal service, the first nonstop
service the airline has operated between Alaska and Hawaii, will be
offered until April 3, 2005. * Fare examples are shown in U.S.
dollars each way, per passenger, based on a roundtrip purchase in
coach class. Fares shown to all destinations do not include a
federal excise tax of $3.10 per segment flown that will be imposed
on each flight segment. A segment is defined as a takeoff and a
landing. Passenger Facility Charges (PFCs) of up to a maximum of
$18 roundtrip and September 11 Security Fees of up to $10 roundtrip

Fares shown are each way per person based on a roundtrip purchase
in coach class. A 14 day advance purchase is required. Tickets must
be purchased within 24 hours after reservations are made, or at
least seven days prior to departure, whichever occurs first, but no
later than Dec. 22, 2004. Fees: A $50 USD nonrefundable surcharge
will be assessed for paper tickets issued in electronic ticket-
eligible markets. A ticket purchased at a Northwest Airlines
airport location in the U.S. or Canada will cost an additional $10
USD/$13 CAD, and a ticket purchased through one of Northwest's U.S.
reservations call centers will cost an additional $5 USD. A $50
non-refundable surcharge will be assessed for paper tickets issued
in electronic ticket-eligible markets. Travel dates: Fares shown
are valid for travel from January 4 through May 19, 2005. Off- peak
days: Fares shown are valid for travel to Hawaii Monday through
Wednesday, and from Hawaii Tuesday through Thursday. Fares for
travel on days other than those specified are higher.
Minimum/maximum stay: Fares require a three day minimum stay and
allow a 60 day maximum stay. Stopovers: One free stopover is
permitted in each direction. Changes to itinerary: Changes may be
made prior to scheduled flights for a $100 administrative service
fee. However, any change must meet the conditions of the new fare
purchased. Other conditions: Tickets are nonrefundable. Seats are
