Micronetics, Inc. (NASDAQ:NOIZ) announced today that its subsidiary, Stealth Microwave, has booked over $1.5M in orders that are expected to be deliverable during the current fiscal year. The orders came from a large U.S. television broadcaster, as well as, integrators of digital wireless broadcasting equipment. These orders include both high performance ultra-linear and non-linearized power amplifiers. Recent FCC regulations recommend that nearly all licensed television broadcasters in the U.S. replace and/or upgrade their wireless video transmitters. In addition, the FCC plans to re-assign the 2GHz broadcast channels in order to resolve interference issues with public safety radio equipment. As a result, it is expected that the full migration from analog television broadcasting to digital television broadcasting will be completed over the next several years. A large portion of the transition involves new digital wireless equipment for mobile video links used by broadcasting stations across the country. Our power amplifiers are an enabling technology that is designed and integrated into these systems. David Robbins, President & CEO of Micronetics, stated, "the exceptional amplifier performance and quick customization Stealth Microwave supplied to its customers were the keys to winning these orders." "Stealth currently has a working relationship with one of the first companies to release portable wireless HDTV transmitters for broadcasters. Relationships with HDTV broadcasting and equipment industry leaders provide access to sales channels for our other Micronetics businesses to present products such as voltage controlled oscillators, noise sources and other high performance enabling technologies within this emerging commercial marketplace."
