FORT WORTH, Texas, March 5, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Elbit Systems of
America, LLC, (NASDAQ: ESLT) (TASE: ESLT), was recently awarded a
five-year Indefinite Delivery/ Indefinite Quantity contract by the
United States Army to provide a wide field of view Common Helmet
Mounted Display (CHMD) system. Work will be performed in
Fort Worth, Texas, with deliveries
starting within 15 months.
This full color CHMD will be part of the U.S. Army's Air Soldier
System, used by helicopter flight crews to provide day and night
enhanced situational awareness and survivability in all flight
conditions. It will be fully-integrated into the Elbit Systems'
Helmet Display and Tracker System used onboard the U.S. Army's
CH-47F Chinook and the UH-60L/M/V Black Hawk fleets.
"Our CHMD provides advanced capabilities for Army aviators,"
stated Raanan Horowitz, President
And Chief Executive Officer of Elbit Systems of America. "Our
solution ensures pilots experience crisp, clear and accurate
symbology, which provides critical information during flight and a
decisive edge in mission effectiveness."
With a low-cost, rapid repair and support infrastructure, the
CHMD program reflects a lifecycle sustainment approach that ensures
combat readiness for the U.S. Army.
The Common Helmet Mounted Display system is production-ready and
pilot-tested. It is next generation technology – a result of Elbit
Systems of America's more than two decades of Helmet Mounted
Display (HMD) development and production experience.
For more than 25 years, the employees of Elbit Systems of
