Former U.S. Army Under Secretary Reeder Joins Elbit Systems of America's Board of Directors

FORT WORTH, Texas, October 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Elbit
Systems of America, whose group of companies provides diversified,
systems-level technology designed to enhance safety and security in
the defense, homeland security, and commercial aviation markets, is
pleased to announce that Joe R. Reeder has joined its board of
directors. With substantial experience in military planning with
regard to infrastructure, material requirements, contracts, and
public policy, as well as a notable legal background, Reeder
strengthens a board that regularly contributes to Elbit Systems of
America's growth-oriented accomplishments. As the Panama Canal
Board Chairman and former U. S. Army Under Secretary, Reeder served
as the Army's de facto chief operating officer with direct
responsibilities for long-range planning, infrastructure,
acquisition reform, and military support of civilian agencies for
law enforcement, disaster relief, and emergency planning. As one of
five members of the Base Realignment Closure (BRAC) Council, he
also assisted the Department of Defense in reducing costs and
realigning priorities for more agile and capable forces. Among the
many civil and corporate boards he serves on, Reeder is Chairman of
the Virginia National Defense Industry Authority, a member of the
Board of Governors of the National Defense Industry Association
(NDIA), and he chairs NDIA's Ethics Committee. Currently the
managing shareholder for the Mid-Atlantic region of Greenberg
Traurig LLP, a 1,600-attorney firm ranked seventh on the American
Lawyer's AmLaw 100, Reeder brings to the board an extensive
background in government contracts, defense and national security
issues, dispute resolution, and regulatory investigations.
