Boeing Team Member to Show Technologies at Border Management
Summit, Oct. 23-25 FORT WORTH, Texas, September 22
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- As part of the Boeing-led team that was
selected to develop the SBInet border-security program, Kollsman,
Inc., an Elbit Systems (NASDAQ:ESLT) of America company, will
supply technology to identify threats, to deter and prevent
crossings, and to apprehend intruders along U.S. borders. The U.S.
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) made the award to prime
contractor Boeing (NYSE:BA) based on the team's experience in
conceptualizing, designing, integrating, assembling, and managing
complex problems. Also weighing in the team's favor was Kollsman's
ability to deliver the border-security technology used today in
extreme temperatures and high-threat environments elsewhere in the
world. "Illegal immigration, smuggling, and terrorism have taken
center stage as potential threats right on our doorstep, and we are
strongly motivated to develop the best border security solution for
protecting the country," notes Tim Taylor, president and CEO of
Elbit Systems of America. "With our technology supporting the
agents who provide daily protection, SBInet will help to restore a
sense of safety and security among Americans." Concurs Wayne Esser,
Boeing's team leader, "Our modeling- and simulation-based approach
is a great fit for SBInet because there is no one-size-fits-all
solution for 6,000 miles of border. Coupled with our position as a
true integrator that brings together partners like Kollsman with a
pedigree in successful border security, the result will be a
program that safeguards the freedoms that are the cornerstone of
the nation." Other members of the Boeing team are Lucent, L3
Communications, Perot Systems, and Unisys Global Public Sector.
Members of the media are invited to attend a demonstration of
Kollsman's border-security technologies at the Border Management
Summit, October 23-25, 2006 at the Ronald Reagan Building and
International Trade Center in Washington, D.C. About Kollsman, Inc.
