Polish Zloty Declines Against US Dollar

The Poland's currency lost ground against the US dollar in early
New York trading on Thursday. Reversing its Early European
session's uptrend, the Polish zloty drifted lower to 3.258 against
the greenback around 9:05 am ET. The dollar-zloty pair that closed
yesterday's deals at 3.2544 is presently quoted at 3.2452.
In economic news, Poland's Central Statistical Office said the
retail sales increased 1.1% year-over-year in May, compared with a
1% growth in the previous month. Economists were looking for a
decline of 0.5%. A year ago, retail sales were up 15.2%.
On a monthly basis, retail sales dropped 2.1% in May, after
rising 5% in April. Economists had expected a decline of 3.3%.
