Merant Dimensions(TM) Enables Customs and Border Protection to Streamline
Development and Management of Law Enforcement, Financial
and Administrative Applications
Merant(R) (Nasdaq:MRNT)(LSE:MRN), a leading provider of software and services
that deliver flexible control of code, content and other business-critical
assets, today announced that the U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection,
Department of Homeland Security, has implemented Merant Dimensions. Merant
Dimensions will play a critical role in the development and management of
numerous applications within Customs and Border Protection (CBP), including
those in the areas of law enforcement, finance and administration.
As part of the selection process, CBP identified multiple criteria for a change
management solution, ranging from flexibility in managing processes to advanced
reporting and demand management capabilities. CBP also wanted a single,
integrated solution that could easily support UNIX, Windows NT and z/OS
platforms. After evaluating multiple solutions, CBP determined that Merant
Dimensions was the only product capable of meeting all of its requirements.
"Replacing multiple existing commercial and homegrown configuration management
systems with Dimensions has enabled CBP to streamline development efforts and
optimize its enterprise architecture," said Stephen King, senior vice president
and general manager at Merant. "CBP has been pleased with Merant's ability to
adapt Dimensions to its mission-critical systems, business processes and overall
operating environment. We will continue to work with CBP to identify
opportunities for implementing Dimensions in operational areas beyond software
development."
Merant Dimensions is the industry's most flexible and comprehensive change
management platform, providing -- in a single framework -- comprehensive process
control, versioning, baseline management, issue management, release management,
next-generation build management, and workflow management. Ideal for
collaborative team environments and distributed groups, Dimensions can be
rapidly implemented, ensuring the protection and management of all enterprise
assets.
Featuring process control that can be easily applied to customer-specific
business processes, Dimensions quickly simplifies change management across an
entire organization. Leveraging the Dimensions platform, organizations can
reduce costs, increase productivity, and better manage their technology
initiatives to meet business objectives and regulatory or audit requirements.
