Siemens, Prysmian Erect Windfarm Cable Link For Over EUR500 Million

German industrial conglomerate Siemens AG (SI) and Italian cable
manufacturer Prysmian S.p.A. (PRY.MI) are erecting a power cable
link for a North Sea offshore windfarm, worth more than EUR500
million, Siemens said Tuesday.
MAIN FACTS:
-The link called HelWin2 connects the Amrumbank West windfarm to
the onshore grid.
-The customer is TenneT TSO GmbH of Bayreuth, Germany.
-Through the connection of more wind farms it will be possible
to transmit a total of 690 megawatt via the grid connection, enough
to supply more than 1 million German households with wind-generated
power.
-The grid connection is scheduled to be operational by 2015.
