Terremark Announces Managed Optical Services for Its Customers

announced Managed Optical Services that will provide Terremark�s
carrier customers the ability to significantly lower their costs of
interconnection and monitoring of their optical circuits. After
extensive testing, Terremark deployed a multi-service optical
switching platform that integrates seamlessly into the customers�
networks to deliver a wealth of optical and network services. By
consolidating disparate network elements into a single platform,
significant costs savings are realized by customers that need to
cross connect circuits, multiplex or de-multiplex facilities,
terminate optical rings or convert circuits from North American
standards to international standards. The services are: 1)
Multiplexing and De-multiplexing Services: This service facilitates
the conversion of circuits and signals for the accurate and
efficient transmission of traffic between disparate networks,
allowing customers to terminate any interface on the optical
switch, regardless of their peering or transit agreements or
cross-connect needs, providing great flexibility and scalability in
their network design. 2) International Gateway Services: Performs
the necessary conversions and gateway functionality to convert
SONET signals to SDH and vice-versa. This capability eliminates the
need for customers to purchase and maintain expensive optical
switches while providing flexibility in the type and data rates
that customers can terminate and connect with each other. 3)
Optical Ring Termination Services: Terremark's Ring Termination
Services are designed to work with a variety of standard compliant
SONET/SDH products delivering a seamless, interconnection,
end-to-end protection schemes. 4) Advanced Optical Monitoring
Service: Full vendor neutral Network Operations Center services
including 24x7 monitoring of circuits/elements/networks, Fault
identification, Alarm Management, Performance Management, Root
Cause Analysis and event audits. 5) Professional Optical Services:
Complete turnkey network solutions/design/optimization, Project
Management, Remote and Smart Hands, Configuration Management and
can also provide consultancy to customers. The above services
