Dreams, Inc. (AMEX:DRJ) announced today that the City of Miami has
selected its wholly-owned memorabilia division, Dreams Products
Inc. (d/b/a Mounted Memories) as its asset recovery firm prior to
the demolition of the Orange Bowl. The arrangement gives Mounted
Memories access to virtually everything in and around the Orange
Bowl, including the goal posts, lockers, seats, benches, urinals,
even trees. Many of these items will be professionally preserved
and are anticipated to be available for sale to the public as soon
as January 2. We are thrilled to work with the City of Miami and
the team assigned to the final days of the Orange Bowl. We wanted
to do something special more than just simply sell off the
assets, said Ross Tannenbaum, president of Dreams, Inc. Our goal
is to make the memories of one of Miamis iconic structures
continue on into the future, and to offer sports fans nationwide a
chance to maintain their own memories of the Orange Bowl. As a
highlight to the closing days of the Orange Bowl, Mounted Memories
is planning a full day of farewell festivities honoring football
greats and culminating with a flag football game, pitting the
legendary Miami Dolphins lead by Dan Marino against the great
University of Miami Hurricanes of the past lead by Jim Kelley and
Bernie Kosar. Scheduled for Saturday, January 26th, the game will
be a nostalgic reminder of the amazing athletic feats that have
taken place in this renowned stadium. After an evaluation
committee of professionals gave careful consideration to proposals,
they determined that Mounted Memories is the most qualified
organization to handle the end of an era with the tribute that the
Orange Bowl deserves, said City Manager Pete Hernandez. Now city
residents, sports fans and history buffs will all have an
opportunity to own a piece of Miamis history. According to Mitch
Adelstein, president of Mounted Memories, the rich tradition of the
Orange Bowl needed to be upheld. We didnt want to see the entire
70-year history of one of sports most recognizable names simply
sold off at the proverbial court house steps, he said. Our goal
is to integrate the athletes with associations to the Orange Bowl
into the preservation of its fundamental elements. The company
plans to create unique memorabilia, mounted, framed, plaqued and
otherwise presented in an extraordinary manner. From its
Sunrise-based warehouse, Mounted Memories has extensive experience
in creating one-of-a-kind collectibles. Memorabilia that may be
available are autographed seats, sections of the locker rooms,
signage from the exterior and much more. The building, first named
Burdine Stadium, was completed in 1937, playing host to the Miami
Hurricanes. The Orange Bowl name came 20 years later, as a tribute
to the Orange Bowl Classic that was played there every year till
the mid-90s. The Orange Bowl has hosted five Super Bowls (II, III,
V, X, and XII) and numerous other events including superstar
concerts by Madonna, the Eagles and Princes Purple Rain Tour. It
was the backdrop to the Dolphins 1972 perfect season as well as the
home stadium to the five-time national champion Miami Hurricanes.
The movies Black Sunday and Any Given Sunday used extensive
footage of the Orange Bowl. We are sorry to see the Orange Bowl
leave its hallowed ground, but we are glad to be able to keep its
history alive, said Tannenbaum. FOR DETAILS please continue to
