United Rentals Board Terminates President and CFO John Milne; Commences Search for New CFO

United Rentals, Inc. (NYSE: URI) today announced that its board of
directors terminated the employment of John Milne, the company's
president and CFO, for cause. The board took this action because,
as previously announced, Mr. Milne has been unwilling to respond to
questions of the special committee of the board reviewing matters
relating to the previously disclosed SEC inquiry of the company.
The company has commenced a search for a new CFO. Additional
