WESTCHESTER, Ill., Jan. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- TreeHouse Foods, Inc. (NYSE:THS) today announced the appointment of Diana S. Ferguson, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Merisant Worldwide, Inc., to the company's board of directors. Ms. Ferguson, 44, will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Michelle R. Obama in May 2007. Ms. Ferguson will fulfill the term of Ms. Obama that will expire in conjunction with the annual meeting of stockholders in 2010. Sam K. Her extensive management experience in finance and strategic planning, much of which has been with consumer products companies, will be a great asset." Prior to joining Merisant in 2007, Ms. Ferguson was chief financial officer of Sara Lee Foodservice, a division of Sara Lee Corporation. She had previously served in a number of leadership positions at Sara Lee Corporation including senior vice president of strategy and corporate development as well as treasurer. Earlier, she held treasury management positions at Fort James Corporation and Eaton Corporation, and also served in various financial positions at Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae), the First National Bank of Chicago and IBM. Ms. Ferguson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Yale University and a Master of Management degree with concentrations in finance and managerial economics from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. She is a member of the board of directors of Integrys Energy Group and also serves on the non-profit board of Leadership Greater Chicago and is active on the Kellogg School Alumni Advisory Board.
