Shares of independent oil and natural gas company Denbury Resources Inc. (DNR) are gaining in Monday's market, after a filing showed The Vanguard Group, Inc., BlackRock Fund Advisors and SSgA Funds Management Inc. were among companies adding to their stakes in the company in the quarter ended March 31.

At 2:28 p.m. ET, the company's shares had risen 14.48% to trade at $2.52. Volume was heavy, with over 15.6 million shares trading. The 65-day average volume for the stock is 11.5 million.
