State Street Global Advisors currencies veteran Monica Fan has left for pastures new.

Ms. Fan, a well-known London-based foreign-exchange portfolio manager at SSGA, the investment management arm of State Street Corp., left her role a few weeks ago, according to a spokeswoman for the company. It isn't clear where she is headed. Ms. Fan couldn't be immediately reached to comment.

State Street, a custody bank that facilitates currency trades, is facing allegations that it overcharged some pension funds and other clients. The firm has denied the allegations and is fighting a lawsuit by the State of California.

For Ms. Fan, the departure is the latest in a decade-plus career in currencies, fixed income and asset allocation. Ms. Fan joined SSGA in early 2009 as a senior currency product engineer. She was previously global head of foreign exchange strategy at RBC Capital Markets, also in London. She has also worked at Bank of America, UBS AG and J.P. Morgan & Chase Co.
