NEWARK, N.J., Dec. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Public Service
Enterprise Group (PSEG) today announced the election of
Shahid Malik as President of PSEG
Energy Resources & Trade, effective December 5th.
Malik was previously with Pittiglio, Rabin, Todd & McGrath
(PRTM) in Pittsburgh, PA and was
responsible for all aspects of growing the global energy practice,
with a primary focus on the North American utility sector.
PRTM has been recognized internationally as one of the leading
operational management consultancy businesses. Malik also
served on the Board of Directors of South Jersey Industries.
Prior to joining PRTM, Malik served as President and CEO of
Strategic Energy, Great Plains Energy's unregulated retail
marketing subsidiary and a provider of energy and services to
business clients in North America. He was accountable for the
Company's strategy and operations and led a successful turnaround
of the company, achieving significant growth in products and
services while reducing costs.

Levis, president of PSEG Power. PSEG Energy Resources
& Trade is a subsidiary of PSEG Power, and Malik will report to
Levis.
Malik's responsibilities will include management of PSEG Power's
generation portfolio and basic gas supply service, purchasing of
fuel, mid- and back-office operations as well as trading and
marketing activities.
Malik will replace Dan Cregg, who
has led PSEG Energy Resources & Trade on an interim basis since
May of 2011. Cregg will resume his position as Vice President
Power Finance.
