NEWARK, N.J., Sept. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- PSE&G has
opened mobile customer service centers in communities ravaged from
the flooding caused by Hurricane Irene. Nine service centers are
operating now, and additional centers will be open over the next
few days.
At the centers customers can receive information and ask
questions about how to have gas service restored to their homes and
businesses. Payment assistance information will be distributed as
well as information on available community resources.
The utility has sufficient gas meters available at mobile gas
command centers around the state that will be installed for
customers as soon as safety inspections have been completed by
municipal officials. Crews from out-of-state gas utilities
are assisting with the restoration effort.
PSE&G estimates that 28,700 gas customers have been impacted
by the severe flooding.
