Prudential Investments today announced the launch of the
Prudential Jennison Global Opportunities Fund (A: PRJAX), a mutual
fund that offers investors the potential for long-term growth by
investing in companies from a broad range of countries, including
emerging markets. Prudential Investments is the mutual fund family
of Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU).
The investment strategy is not constrained by region, country,
or industry sector. The fund will invest primarily in equity and
equity-related securities of companies located typically in a
number of different countries around the world. There is no
guarantee the fund’s objective will be achieved.
“Investors should view the fund as a good way to help diversify
and potentially grow their portfolios, since the managers have the
freedom to invest in any company anywhere in the world where they
see the best opportunities,” said Stuart Parker, president of
Prudential Investments.
The fund’s rigorous bottom-up investment strategy is led by
Jennison Associates LLC’s four-member Global Equity Team, whose
members average 18 years of investment experience and is headed by
Mark Baribeau. As part of its fundamental research, the team
examines an investment candidate’s current market share and
positioning relative to its competitors, prominence within its
industry, ability to benefit from economies of scale and potential
to increase market share among other factors.
The team also leverages the insights and experience of
Jennison’s 26 research analysts, many of whom are sector
specialists and work on the firms other equity strategies. Jennison
is a wholly owned subsidiary of Prudential Financial and manages
many of Prudential Investments’ equity funds. Founded in 1969, it
is one of the nation’s leading managers of growth, value, blend,
and specialty strategies.
