materials announced today that it will open its China Composites
Center in Shanghai, China, in
early 2012.

will partner with our customers in the region to grow the use of
composites materials in existing and new applications."
This center will have a staff of talented scientists and
engineers using state-of-the-art facilities to focus on customer
activities including composite prototyping, materials testing,
designing with composites, technical support and developing new
solutions, particularly in applications for renewable energy,
residential and commercial building and vehicle components.
The team will be part of an integrated global network of
scientists and engineers connected to the company's innovation
sites around the world in Granville, USA; Chambery, France; Zele, Belgium; Apeldoorn, Netherlands; and Ibaraki, Japan. Having a facility in
Shanghai ensures deep
understanding of local needs and trends. The team will also partner
with local universities and institutes specializing in material
science, chemistry, characterization and processing.
