McAfee, Inc. Introduces Channel Acceleration Initiatives at FOCUS 10 Second Annual Global Partner Summit

FOCUS 2010 – McAfee, Inc. (NYSE:MFE), will announce its
channel strategy for 2011 to nearly 700 partner attendees at its
Global Partner Summit held in conjunction with FOCUS 10. Building
upon the programs launched in 2010 under the McAfee
SecurityAlliance Partner Program, the McAfee acceleration strategy
includes a series of partner growth initiatives for 2011 focusing
on flexible delivery models, the development of small and mid
market enterprise opportunities and programs to support emerging
technology markets.
McAfee also announced the go live of the McAfee Channel
Community, which consists of private regional groups from around
the globe. The community was created with the objective to engage,
enable and empower partners; ultimately making it easier for them
to do business with McAfee. The community will provide a one stop
place for reseller partners and distributors to access all
resources and communications they need to make the most of their
McAfee relationship.
McAfee 2011 Acceleration Strategy
With the theme of “Accelerate!,” the 2010 McAfee
SecurityAlliance Partner Summit will provide business partners with
an extensive program covering strategy on the following growth
initiatives:
- Small and Medium Business (SMB)
Partner Acceleration – designed to increase Partners’ sales of
McAfee security solutions in conjunction with increased services
attach rates. The initiative will feature the launch of the McAfee
Partner Acceleration Center, a one-stop portal for partners to help
them become the Trusted Security Advisor for their SMB customers
with Sales Tools and Marketing Assets that guide them through the
McAfee SMB sales lifecycle.
- Flexible Delivery Model
Initiative – in 2011 McAfee will launch two new partner
programs that address the needs of many small to medium size
businesses. These customers expect a choice of how to reduce the
onsite infrastructure costs and access their security IT services
via Cloud-based SaaS solutions or via Managed Services or
Outsourced Services Provider. The SaaS Monthly Designation will be
available to all McAfee SecurityAlliance Reseller partners who are
looking for improved profitability through a monthly recurring
revenue model and features easy access to sales and marketing
resources focused on this product line. The Services Provider
program that has been running in pilot in EMEA will be the basis
for the worldwide launch of the Managed Services Provider and
Outsourced Services Provider partner types.
- Emerging Technology Program will
allow McAfee to bring new technologies to market quicker – whether
those technologies are developed in-house or through acquisition.
This program will allow McAfee to provide a laser focus on key
go-to-market partners in a particular region or who demonstrate a
particular expertise in these new technology areas (i.e.,
Virtualization, Mobility and Cloud Services). The invitation only
program will provide training and enablement as well as additional
profitability benefits to those partners who invest in the McAfee
Emerging Technology Program.

Global Partner Summit Agenda Summary
- Executive keynotes will be delivered by
CEO and President, David DeWalt, Executive Vice President of
Worldwide Sales, Michael DeCesare, and Senior Vice President of
Worldwide Channels and Commercial Sales Operations, Alex
Thurber.
- Key sessions will be delivered by
Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales Engineering, Michael Fey,
Senior Vice President of Product Management, Brian Foster and
Senior Vice President of Product Marketing, Matt Fairbanks.
- The agenda also includes workshops and
breakout sessions on sales and marketing strategies addressing the
enterprise and the commercial/SMB customer segments as well as
extensive networking opportunities.
