Vodafone PLC (VOD) underperformed its peers in Germany in its fiscal fourth quarter, as it Tuesday posted a 1.8% decline in mobile service revenue for the period.

For the quarter ended March 31, Vodafone's mobile service revenue in Germany fell to EUR1.63 billion from EUR1.66 billion a year earlier, mainly due to lower mobile termination rates and roaming revenue.

U.K.-based Vodafone is the No. 2 mobile network provider by customers in Germany.

Earlier, Deutsche Telekom AG (DT) posted a 3.3% rise in mobile service revenue in Germany in the January-to-March quarter, while Telefonica SA's (TEF) O2 said on a comparable basis its mobile service revenue was up 2.4% in the period.

Royal KPN NV's E-Plus (KPN.AE) posted a 0.7% decline in mobile service revenue in the quarter ended March 31.
