CBL Hires New Assistant General Counsel

CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. (NYSE: CBL) today announced
it has hired David R. Levy as assistant general counsel. Mr. Levy
will report to Vickie Berghel, senior vice president and general
counsel. Commenting on the announcement, Stephen Lebovitz,
president of CBL & Associates Properties, Inc., said, "David's

governmental agencies to name a few." Joining CBL after more than
11 years with The May Department Stores Company, Mr. Levy brings
extensive experience in real estate, including significant merger
and acquisition, construction and operational issues and related
litigation management expertise. He also has strong experience in
all areas of corporate governance with comprehensive legal work in
the labor and employment law, business operations and corporate
practice areas. Prior to that time, Mr. Levy was a contract
administrator with McDonnell Douglas. Mr. Levy received his
bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois and his MBA and
Juris Doctorate degrees from Saint Louis University's School of
Business Administration and School of Law. CBL is one of the
largest and most experienced owners and developers of malls and
shopping centers in the country. CBL owns, holds interests in or
manages 132 properties, including 79 regional malls/open-air
centers. The properties are located in 27 states and total 74.1
million square feet including 2.0 million square feet of non-owned
shopping centers managed for third parties. CBL currently has ten
projects under construction totaling 2.2 million square feet
including Phase II of Gulf Coast Town Center in Ft. Myers, FL; two
open-air shopping centers; a community center, two associated
