Air Products Board Elects New Director LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa., Nov. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- W. Douglas Ford, retired executive director and chief executive, refining and marketing, of BP Amoco plc. (BP), was elected today to Air Products' board of directors. Air Products Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John P. Jones commented that Ford "will add significant value to the company, bringing his extensive global experience in senior executive and operations management positions in the energy field, as well as his experience as a public company director." Ford, 59, served as executive vice president of BP and its predecessor, Amoco Corporation, from 1993 to 1999. He was named chief executive, refining and marketing, of BP in 1999 and joined the BP board in 2000. Ford retired from BP and its board in March 2002. Ford currently serves as a director for USG Corporation, a manufacturer of building materials, and UAL Corporation, whose primary subsidiary is United Airlines. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University.
