Abercrombie & Fitch Reports July Sales Increase Of 20%; Comparable Store Sales Increase 3%

NEW ALBANY, Ohio, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Abercrombie
& Fitch (NYSE:ANF) today reported net sales of $230.0 million
for the four-week period ended July 29, 2006, a 20% increase over
last year's July net sales of $191.0 million. July comparable store
sales increased 3% compared to the four-week period ended July 30,
2005. Year-to-date, the Company reported a net sales increase of
18% to $1.316 billion from $1.118 billion last year. Comparable
store sales increased 3% for the year-to-date period. July 2006
Developments - Total Company net sales increased 20% - Total
Company comparable store sales increased 3% - Abercrombie &
Fitch comparable store sales increased 1% - abercrombie comparable
store sales increased 5% - Hollister Co. comparable store sales
increased 5% - RUEHL comparable store sales increased 36% The
Company operated 351 Abercrombie & Fitch stores, 164
abercrombie stores, 355 Hollister Co. stores and ten RUEHL stores
