plans for the 2006 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES),
including its presentation of the "Best of CES Awards" at 2 p.m. on
Saturday, January 7 at the CNET booth. CNET was chosen by the
Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) in October 2005 as the
exclusive host to produce and judge the 2006 Best of CES Awards.
This year, more than 30 CNET editors will canvass the show floor,
which is open tomorrow through Saturday at the Las Vegas Convention
Center. CNET's expert editorial team will preview more than 100
products a day, producing video clips and podcasts, writing blogs,
and posting product reviews of the hottest products and trends at

in each of the twelve categories. Finalists will be announced from

beginning Thursday, January 5 at 5 p.m. Pacific Time, people at
home can begin submitting their vote for the People's Voice Award

open until 12 p.m. Pacific Time on Saturday, January 7. Winners of
the Best of CES Awards, including Best of Show and the People's
Voice will be announced on Saturday, January 7 at 2 p.m. from the

presenting the third annual "Next Big Thing Super Session" on
Thursday, January 5 at 3 p.m. in room N257. The special event,
hosted by Editor-at-large Brian Cooley, and Editors Tom Merritt and

promise to dazzle consumers and the industry in 2006. The one-hour
session features commentary from CNET's expert editors,
