DSP Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: DSPG), a leading global provider of
integrative wireless chipset solutions for converging
communications, announced today that OPPO has integrated its
SmartVoice technology into its just-announced OPPO Reno smartphone.
The new phone was announced in China last week. By providing low
power consumption and best in class far-field voice capabilities,
DSP Group’s low-power DBMD4 audio system-on-chip (SoC) allows users
of the new OPPO phones to access Breeno and all its capabilities
through high-accuracy far-field and two-way voice algorithms for a
natural, seamless user experience.
“For over 10 years OPPO has relentlessly pursued the optimum
synergy of aesthetic satisfaction and innovative technology, and we
are delighted to be part of the next stage of that objective by
voice enabling the Breeno intelligent assistant,” said Ofer
Elyakim, CEO, DSP Group “Our SmartVoice solutions are being
recognized globally and by wide selection of applications as the
leading solutions for low power far-field always on voice.”
DSP Group’s DBMD4 chipset is an ultra-low-power platform in an
always-on device and also conserves battery power as it wakes the
device from sleep.
Breeno was announced at the last OPPO developer conference in
December in Beijing as an intelligent assistant for the era of 5G
in China. “As a strategic product for the future, Breeno will break
the barriers between the smartphone and all other interconnected
things while bringing users an integrated, smooth and intelligent
experience. We are delighted to cooperate with DSP Group and
integrate its always-on voice activation which enable our customers
enjoy from always-on voice capabilities and still keep the battery
life,” Oppo said.
Adhering to the concept of “openness, sharing and co-creation,”
Wu said that Breeno will serve as a speech skill and smart service
platform that will be open to developers and partners to integrate
new services and devices and create an intelligent control center
for connected devices.
By integrating decision making, perception, and learning skills
through situational cognition and natural interaction, such as
voice, Breeno will better understand the needs of the user.
“Clearly OPPO is on the cutting edge of where mobile devices need
to be with regard to the user experience, especially with 5G
emerging,” said Elyakim. “As such, its selection of DSP Group’s
SmartVoice for the Reno is further validation of our ability to
improve human-machine voice interactions in microphone-equipped
devices. Working with OPPO and Breeno helps ensure that voices will
be heard as we move towards wider adoption of the integrated voice
experience.”
