Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS) today announced Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tenn. as the winner of its 2nd annual Wear the Care Contest™. The contest recognizes the positive impact of a professional image on patient satisfaction and awards the winner with a complimentary Image Apparel Makeover worth $10,000. In addition, the winning entrant receives a $1,000 donation in their name to the hospital’s foundation.

Selected among over 200 entries, the food and nutrition department at Jackson-Madison best demonstrated its need for a new apparel program and how a new program would improve patient satisfaction. The winner was selected by an independent judging panel. The department was also awarded a complimentary Power of Image™ seminar at the facility presented by Roberta Hughes, President of Avidere, LLC, designed to inspire and educate staff on the significance of maintaining image standards.

“Due to budget cuts, we haven’t been able to update our uniforms recently,” said Leila Frankland, foodservice manager at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital and contest entrant. “We always did our best to serve our patients with a smile, but winning this contest and outfitting our team in new apparel has increased staff morale and brought excitement to the department.”

Established in 1950, Jackson-Madison County General Hospital is a 635-bed general medical/surgical acute care hospital serving Jackson, Tenn. and surrounding 18-county rural area. General Hospital is the anchor of West Tennessee Healthcare, one of the top 10 largest non-profit healthcare systems in the U.S. The facility recently opened a new tower in the fall of 2008.

“As more healthcare facilities look to reinvigorate their brand and provide a personalized service model to gain market share, updating an apparel program is one way organizations are improving patient satisfaction scores,” said John Savage, Healthcare Marketing Director of Cintas. “The Wear the Care Contest gives hospitals an opportunity to see the impact of a new employee image.”
