NEW YORK, Dec. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael Houston, Global President of Grey, who has led Grey New York in his role as CEO of Grey North America, today announced the promotion of Debby Reiner to CEO of Grey New York, a new position at the flagship headquarters office.

Debby Reiner, a Grey veteran, has served most recently as President Grey/Global P&G, overseeing the agency's largest client's entire portfolio of brands.

"Debby is a natural to lead our 1,100 strong flagship," Michael Houston said. "She has been a prime mover in making Grey a creative and new business powerhouse.  Her passion, skill, dynamism and dedication to excellence have endeared her to clients and colleagues alike."

"This well-deserved promotion, coming as we close an outstanding year in Grey New York's history and prepare to celebrate our centennial next year, recognizes the pivotal role Debby has played in our success," said James R. Heekin III, Chairman and CEO of Grey Group.  "Her appointment opens a new chapter in our evolution as a 'Famously Effective' agency focused on the future."

Debby Reiner: Innovative Global Marketer

Debby Reiner joined Grey New York in 1989 after graduating from Harvard and embraced her passion for the beauty business, working on CoverGirl.  After a successful stint running Clairol at JWT, she came home to Grey to lead the global reinvention of Pantene in 1999.

Over the years, Reiner has helped build Grey into the number one beauty agency in the world with iconic juggernaut brands such as Pantene, Clairol, CoverGirl and an array of fragrances.  She was a key player in developing the agency's integrated offering encompassing digital, shopper marketing, activation and Hispanic communications.

From Ellen DeGeneres for CoverGirl to transgender model Tracey Norman for Clairol, Grey's advertising has put these beauty brands front and center in pop culture conversation, driven their growth and been honored at Cannes.

In recognition of her achievements, Reiner was promoted to Executive Vice President, Partner and Global Beauty Director on P&G.  In 2013, she led the team that won the global Gillette account and later added Venus, Braun and the Art of Shaving business in 2014.

Debby Reiner was promoted to President Grey/Global P&G in 2015, overseeing all P&G brands.

Debby Reiner said, "It is an incredible honor to be entrusted with the leadership of Grey New York as we celebrate our 100th anniversary.  The Grey brand has tremendous vitality and potential.  I look forward to working with our talented team to capitalize on our momentum and shape our future."
